First Fall Ball Tournament!

 

Nova Fall 12U Kicks off the season!

 

We won 2nd place in our first Fall Tournament, which was the USSSA World Series Qualifier tournament in Fremont, CA.
The girls played great and we ended up with a 3 Wins and 2 Loss record - with both losses coming to the eventual tournament champion, a very seasoned team called the Union City Dynasty.  We played at the 13U level, but only had 2 13U age players with the rest of the team being 12U and 11U age eligible.  This tournament featured good batting, some great defensive plays and really great pitching performances from both Kavita Prasad and Marialena Ahern.
Overall, I think that this team is off to a great start and given the interest and strength of all the Nova league-wide 12U and 13U players in the Fall 2008 program, it will certainly pay dividends next Summer.

 

 

10U Red WINS last summer tournament

 

Yes, it's true! 10U Red won the Santa Clara PAL tournament at Mission College during the last weekend of July, closing their summer season with a “bang”.

 

 

 

We mercy-ruled the first two teams we played on Saturday, and lost to the team we ended up playing on Sunday in the championship game.

On Sunday, we came prepared and we were really strong. The girls played their hearts out! They really wanted to win this last tournament. We played 7 innings and were tied 1-1. We only played 1 inning of the tie breaker and scored to win the game! It was a gut-wrenching win but worth every minute of it!

The 10U Red team is sponsored by Dr. Stephen Larson and the sponsor trophy was presented to him shortly after the tournament.
